Description

The Iconica 5000W 48V Hybrid Inverter intelligently combines the functions of a 5000W pure sine wave inverter, an 80A MPPT solar charge controller, and a 60A smart battery charger in one portable unit. This versatile model can accept input from solar panels, mains power, a generator, and a battery - either from a single source or a combination of inputs. Alongside its hybrid capability, the inverter includes advanced communication functions and a menu filled with highly customisable settings.

This system offers an ideal power solution for off-grid applications with limited or no access to mains electricity. It provides an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) function, making it particularly suitable for areas where power is unreliable, intermittent, or costly to maintain. The inverter is designed for both stationary and mobile off-grid setups such as remote homes, cabins, holiday properties, narrowboats, and yachts, as well as for users looking to reduce mains usage or create a reliable backup system in locations affected by frequent power cuts.

Key Functions

5000W 48V Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Converts DC power into 230V AC mains electricity to run appliances such as TVs, laptops, fridges, microwaves, and lighting. It can supply 5000VA of continuous power with a peak capability of up to 10,000VA, suitable for starting appliances with electric motors like pumps, vacuum cleaners, and power tools. The pure sine wave output ensures higher efficiency and compatibility with a wider range of equipment compared to modified sine wave inverters.

Inbuilt 80A MPPT Solar Charge Controller

Regulates input from the solar panels to the batteries, with built-in protection against overcharge, overheating, and reverse current. Advanced MPPT technology extracts the maximum possible output from the solar array and operates at up to 98% efficiency. The inverter supports solar arrays up to 4000W maximum input, and performance data for the solar array is displayed on the LCD screen.

Enhanced 60A Smart Battery Charger

Allows safe, efficient, and fast charging (up to 60A) from a mains supply or generator. It includes full overcharge protection and multiple automatic charging stages.

System Expansion Potential

This inverter can be connected in parallel with additional identical units (up to eight more inverters) for large-scale power systems of up to 45kW total capacity. Once connected in parallel, it can also operate in three-phase configuration, suitable for powering industrial equipment and 3-phase machinery. Each inverter connected in parallel requires a separate parallel connection kit (sold separately).

Additional Intelligent Features

  • Output source priority: Lets the user select preferred energy sources for AC output (solar, battery, mains, or generator) depending on system conditions.
  • Battery charging priority: Allows configuration of the preferred charging source, such as solar-only, solar plus mains, or mains-only.
  • Customisable settings: Parameters can be adjusted via the intuitive interface, including AC input range, battery type, maximum charging current, high/low voltage disconnect points, duration and voltage of each charging stage, auto-restart options, power-saving mode, overload bypass, and battery equalisation characteristics. Audible alarms and backlight settings can also be adjusted.
  • Illuminated LCD screen: Displays real-time data such as status, input/output voltage, frequency, battery voltage, load power, percentage, and charge/discharge current.
  • Advanced communication: Supplied with a PC connection cable and software CD for viewing detailed data such as solar, battery, and AC voltage, charging current, and battery capacity. Logs can be viewed and exported in PDF or Excel formats. The inverter can also send data to an online user portal when used with an optional Wi-Fi connection kit or mobile app Wi-Fi kit (sold separately), unlocking remote monitoring and email or push-notification updates.
  • Auto-restart function: Automatically reconnects load appliances after overload or overheating once safe conditions are detected.
  • Generator auto-start: When connected to a generator via dry contacts, the inverter can automatically start the generator if battery voltage falls below a set level.
  • Intelligent cooling: Predictive fan logic manages 1–2 fans at variable speeds to maintain safe operating temperatures and prevent component overheating.

What's In The Box: 1x hybrid inverter unit, 1x user manual, 1x communication cable, 1x software CD.

Compatibility: This hybrid inverter is suitable for 48V flooded and sealed GEL/AGM lead-acid batteries, with pre-defined charging programs. A user-defined battery type with customisable settings is also available for other lead-acid battery configurations.

Hi there, How long would this product supply power for before batteries run out of power, Many thanks, Paul.
The duration of a 2kW Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) system with a 2.4kWh energy storage battery depends on the load it supports. If the system is running at full capacity (2kW), the battery would last approximately 1.2 hours (2.4kWh ÷ 2kW). However, if the load is less than 2kW, the duration would increase proportionally. For example, at a 1kW load, the battery could last around 2.4 hours.
